In 5-Element philosophy the element of fire is known as the magician because it transforms everything it touches. There is something so empowering about taking what you have and turning it into something new. It is not the “new thing” that is liberating, but the knowing that our greatest obstacles and most difficult circumstances can be the fuel for creating what we want in our lives. In her classes we go behind the scenes, where the real work happens, and transform our prior knowledge, challenges and limitations into strength and freedom.
Kendra’s group classes primarily focus on Foundation Training. She also works one-on-one with students to build a practice unique to their needs and she is a Shiatsu Practitioner. She studied a very traditional style of yoga called Iyengar Yoga, and taught for over 15 years, but through multiple injuries and yearning to learn more she began to study Shiatsu, Shadow Yoga, Foundation Training, Breath Work, Internal Martial Arts, Functional Range Conditioning, foundational gymnastics, movement patterns from the Movement Culture — specifically the work of Ido Portal, therapeutic work with muscle and connective tissue, meditation, non-violent communication, and the work of Byron Katie. Her teaching and her practice are highly influenced by these practices!
She teaches alignment, strength within mobility, grace, technique, and experiential understanding of the anatomy and emotions within the body.

These practices have given her incredible resilience and recovery with depression, anxiety, fatigue, and multiple serious injuries over the years. Her relationship and understanding of emotional and physical pain has completely transformed and her teaching is highly influenced by the knowledge and skill she has gained from working through these experiences. She has been teaching yoga for over 12 years, taken multiple trainings, and studies regularly with some of the world’s best teachers. She offers yoga classes, private yoga asana and philosophy lessons, therapeutic yoga sessions, yoga workshops, yoga retreats, yoga trainings, shiatsu bodywork and 5 element consultations.

I can do back bends.
